1. First – Drivers are verified local mothers with driving experience in the area.
- 👉 We ask for two letters of recommendation from fellow parents, teachers, or other community leaders.
2. All drivers are registered with Trustline™, the Gold Standard in California’s registry of childcare providers.
- 👉 Applicants must submit to a fingerprint, child abuse, and criminal background check.
3. All drivers must have clean driving records, with no accidents or driving infractions within the past 5 years.
- 👉 MomWgn participates in regular CA DMV updates; we are notified if any driver experiences recent infractions.
4. All cars must pass a 19-point mechanic’s inspection.
- 👉 MomWgn provides booster seats as needed.
5. Communication is key. We verify and follow school/organization protocols for pickup & dropoff.
- 👉 Parents get a text confirmation when their kids are picked up and when they arrive at their destination.
- 👉 Real time phone support is available at the local MomWgn Chapter during all driving hours.
